Boot time is break time



I'm on XP at work, and sometimes it's a good 20 minutes between when I press the power button to when Outlook finally pops up. 

Remember all those movies from the early 70's like The Forbin Project and Logan's Run, when computers were all-knowing and super-efficient and never had any glitches? 

Why can't we have that today?
