Another bad idea
The Canadian copyright association thinks every up north with an iPod or mp3 player is just stuffing it full of pirated copies of Glass Tiger's Greatest Hits and the like.
Why anyone would want to listen to them is beyond me, but apparently, they believe in it so strongly they're willing to propose a $2-10 dollar tax on flash memory cards to compensate themselves for perceived lost revenue. This includes Compact Flash and SD cards.
That's right. If these mo-mos get their way, like they did before with the blank CD tax, the very backbone of modern photography will be taxed for something completely unrelated.
If you know a photog up north, let them know how his livelihood will be affected by this ludicrous extortion scheme.
